Air Springs
Two truck-type, highly dependable Air Springs are mounted between Retriever’s bed and the truck’s chassis. A three-spring design is utilized on the Heavy Duty model.
Each Spring can be pressurized up to 120 psi by the truck’s air power system... the force needed to raise the Retriever’s deck into transport position. Each Retriever model uses Springs capable of lifting between 12,000 and 24,000 lbs., multiple times the allowable weight of the equipment being hauled.
Pressure is applied or released by actuating valves conveniently located in the lighted, enclosed deck-side Control Box.
Retriever never suffers from hydraulic pump cavitation or the typical sluggish hydraulic operation experienced with most roll backs in cold weather. In other words, Retriever is never "down" due to winter cold.
